                                Why We create AGOWA
AGOWA is a brainchild of two young senegalese ALIOU and FATOU , it was founded in 2014 in New York .Our social development entrepreneurial goals have been inspired by our hardworking family.

OUR PRODUCT
In Senegal, baskets weaving is a tradition that has been passed down for generations to women in rural villages to generate income. AGOWA baskets are created with meticulous attention to detail and are crafted respecting the traditional Senegalese Wolof weaving.
AGOWA blends traditional weaving with modern designs to create beautiful storage that is stylish and practical. The baskets are woven from local NDIOROKH  (sweet grass) and long strips of recycled plastic traditionally used for making mats.Weaving the plastic tightly and closely together ensures that the baskets are sturdy and long lasting.
Thoughtful Sources
Our team in Senegal work directly with more than 100 women across 15  remote villages  in Thies.
AGOWA is committed to working closely with the women to expend their creative horizons while still preserving the craftsmanship and hand making techniques. Each baskets is checked in Senegal and quality controlled again when arrives in the US. We are always working to perfect our designs and colors combinations.
